Stormy Summer Day |

Shaneland Stables is a Rocky Mountain horse breeding farm established in 1999. We breed, raise, show and sell Rocky Mountain horses exclusively. We are always amazed at the wonderful temperament and smooth effortless gait of the Rocky Mountain horse and it's many other unique attributes. To learn more about the Rocky Mountain Horse go to www.rmhorse.com.
A Rocky Mountain horse is the Cadillac of all gaited horses. There is no other type of "Mountain Horse" that comes close to a Rocky Mountain horse. The Rocky Mountain horse has the smoothest most natural lateral even four beat gait, coupled with extreme beauty and a temperament of a puppy dog. We are proud to raise only the best Rocky Mountain horses and have very high standards for all of our breeding horses.

Snowy Winter Day in 2014 |

Yes, we live in Michigan, where it is beautiful in the spring and summer and quite cold in the winter. Our Rocky Mountain horses enjoy the four seasons and are content to stay outside almost every day of the year. Of course they have run in sheds for shelter, but rarely do you see them in there even in sub freezing weather.

We are Dan and Debi Kimbrell, owners of Shaneland Stables. We believe in natural horsemanship training techniques and train our horses with the language that the horse understands. We have worked with Larry Whitesell in training our horses using classical dressage methods. We continue to work to improve our relationships with the horses we ride in gaining great communication and utilizing each horses abilities to the fullest.
Dan and I are both Senior Examiners with the RMHA. We are committed to the preservation of the Rocky Mountain Horse and we work hard to acheive that goal.

We believe strongly in proper nutrition for the dams and sires of each foal. This one day old foal represents proper nutrition and health of the mother.
Our total nutrition and health program is comprised of: Mares are vaccinated for all horse illnesses including West Nile one month prior to foaling (to give proper immunity to the foal), they have routine teeth floating and worming. All horses receive regular hoof trimming to meet their conformation. You will rarely if ever see any shoes on our horses. They have strong and solid feet which comes from proper nutrition and hoof care. Our pastures are irrigated so the mothers and foals get as much natural blue grass to eat as possible during the spring and summer months. There is no standing water allowed and manure is immediately managed to reduce any biting flies or mosquitoes. We believe this gives you a quality healthy foal from the start and gives the foals strong muscle and bone and immunity from disease.
